When I came to learn at Immanuel House, I could barely start a computer or understand the basic things about computers, but thanks to the expertise, kind and patient character of the staff, my fear of learning computers became a joy!

The atmosphere at Immanuel House has been wonderful on all the courses I have attended. I have certainly made some good friends there. The classes are serious but fun, we all have fun together and help each other when we can no matter what race, colour or creed and I cannot praise the staff and teachers highly enough.

I must express my appreciation for the choice of subjects and the presentation of the topics at the Centre. I can now produce letters with a semi-professional finish. The facilities at the Centre are good; the atmosphere is what I consider ideal, with every ‘student’ feeling relaxed and able to discuss the subject with the tutor.

Although I find this a very difficult area of study, it is also
fascinating and I’m hoping that one day, with this Centre’s help, I shall consider myself partially computer literate! I very much enjoy coming to the centre and hope that I can spend more happy hours Learning there.

I live in Mitcham and come from Somalia. I am married and have two children. I work three days a week as an electrical engineer in a garage in Streatham. I studied English language at Immanuel House. I had great help from my teachers. I had beautiful and coloured English books from my teachers. I learnt English to enable me to help my children with their homework. I have improved my English language very much since studying at Immanuel house. My course included vocabulary and grammar. The skills for life which I did were very useful for me. Now I have a lot of friends from different countries and they are all very kind. The course is very interesting. I have attended an exam at Carshalton College. It was very easy exam. Now I would like to continue my studies so I will do level 2 in September.

My name is Jan, I live in Morden. I come from Slovakia. I am married and have two children. I work four nights, Saturday and Sunday all day every week in a laundry in Merton. I am learning English because I would like to be able to speak well when I visit the shops and my doctor. Skills for life course entry level 1a, 1b was the course I did at Immanuel house. It was very interesting. My speaking, writing and reading are very much better as I could not speak English at all last December. Now I will join another course entry level 2 in September.
